Quoting Butterfly2898:
You should be a light fo other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven...Matthew 5:16
When I hear this statement, I remember my Dad. He said to me one time that money is not a basis of living a full life...its when you become an inspiration to another persons life, or when people look up to you as a good example...that's the time you will feel a sense of fullfilment deep inside you soul. he always remind us never to ask for recognition on the good things that we do, humble ourselves the eyes of man so that God will lift us up. I didn't understand it at that time...thinking it is just too overrated. But he was right.
I learned, when became a christian that living a full life eminates from the foundation of your faith, whether the favor of God is upon you, how you dessiminate the fruits of grace that God gave you, and the knowledge and the understanding that when you pass away, there is no other place your soul would come home to but the Lord's kingdom.
In layman's term...be a good example of what life is really all about. What are those examples...Be faithful to your spouse and patient to your kids' inequities, work and do not be idle (for an idle mind creates an opportunity for the devil to play around with), do not cheat on anything, do not lie or envy someone else's stuff, respect your parents the way it is written and instructed by God (take care of them as they have taken care of you when you were littlle and helpless). I noticed here in America, that they put their parents to the nursing home because they cannot deal with their parents disabilities or maybe it is too much for them to feed them, bath them, or take care of their daily needs. I just really think it is despicable and inhumane that after you put your life for your children on many occassion, put yourself to work to feed, clothe, educate and give them a little bit of liesure, protect them, help them develop their skill so that they will be equiped when they get older....they would just turn around and toss you out of their sight and put you to someone else's care because they cannot deal with you. For me, it would be understandable to ask help from someone else to take care of your parents, but to put them away to someone else's care is not acceptble in my eyes let alone in the eyes of God who commanded us to honor our father and our mother.
It is better to die in a nursing home knowing you dont have any family who will take care of you than knowing you have been forgotten.
Living a full life is dying with a smile on your face knowing in your heart you touched someone else's soul.
