Have been on and off this site since 2005...have tried it both ways, and with regards to 'free' versus 'pay', if you look around, there AREN'T any free sites for this kind of online dating.....
They charge you for the service the same as any 'brick and mortar' dating service would....(not taking sides here, just trying to see both sides of it).....
There ARE ways around their 'blog filters' or forum filters if you want to get in touch with them, but it'

Yes, I've done it, and have been able to get in contact with a LOT OF PEOPLE from this site, away from this site as a result, but then you get 'flagged' as an 'abuser' and all your posts start vanishing.....
(call it retaliation if you will for outsmarting the customer service types).....
Can you tell I've been at this awhile?....LOL!....I finally gave up....still get winks from different people here from time to time, but I put it in my profile that I can only wink back since I'm not a 'gold member'....just here for friends anyways now at this point.....
