To all my SOLDIERS out in the field....I wish I could be there to hold your hand when your afraid; to bandage your wounds when you don't know what to do; talk to you when you are lonely and so far away from home; be the one that you ask for help in your time of need; protect you with my life if called upon; but I'm back here and I worry every day that I watch the news that my "PEOPLE" are being properly taken care of........."Yes" I still do. When I say my "PEOPLE" race is of no concern, everyone wears the same BDU'S and bleeds the same color. Funny, how when our men and women have their backs up against the wall, their color, race, religion, where they come from, and what language they speak, is of NO major concern, other than complete SURVIVAL and making sure no one is left behind and everyone returns safe and sound....."UNFORTUNATELY" that is not happening....basic trainees are being sent fresh out of basic with no experience and they're being taken out.........Please O.G'S take care of the young ones...they don't have the experience or the knowledge on how to cover themselves..........

The Army is all-volunteer, & no soldiers are being sent from basic training. They must then be trained in their Military Occipational Specialty, & that can take another year! Further, this Army of professional soldiers doesn't have too many 'cruits. In terms of ntrance into the Armed services, the standards are competitive with civilian employment. I ask you to please become this captain from 'da Bronx's friend.

You are right many young service members are sent to a war zone without any realization of how it is going to be! Just because you learn how to shot and reload a gun does not make ready the next day to go and hunt for the bad guy. Also the sad part is that we fight with rules and the bad guy never does!! We should figure out a better system then that!!Later
