There is NO excuse for treating another person poorly. What does it take to tell a person, "I'm sorry I'm just not interested anymore"? I find it odd that these men (and women too!) are brave enough to face the enemy but not brave enough to face someone who cares about them. Interesting, huh? I agree that you should be glad he's out of your life. The man has issues that pre-exist the deployment, I guarantee it!

What can you do? thanks for sharing, I think we have all been there, and to tell the truth, we have all probably stood up a guy or two in our past too. Things happen, weather or not it was something he had no control over or if it was just that he changed his mind--who knows. Rack it up to another life experince I guess. Hey, Blackjackdaisy! Dude, I checked out your profile--what is up with strip teasing monkeys??? Is this some sort crazy thing you youngsters are into? I'll send you a wink since I'm not a gold member but I mean it on a strictly pen pal sort of level.

alright darnit! I am prior military and a veteran of the gulf war era. Operation Iraqi freedom. My husband is a marine and has been to Iraq twice! I believe you women should look at yourself before you get involved with any man. yes military men are different but if your not willing to understand that then you are too self centered. Maybe he got delayed. Maybe he had a change of heart. Whatever the case is he went to Iraq. I think some women who have men over there or vice versa need to understand its a whole different world. nothing they can say to you can make you understand what they been through unless you been there yourself. people handle relationships differntly just stand by your military men through thick and thin. If it doesnt work out it wasnt ment to be. get over it.

Is it possible something happened to him? If you weren't on his "notify" list, you would not know. Give him the benefit of the doubt unless you know for sure.

Sometimes I wonder how seriously we should take the word of people stuck in a bastard of a place with no company. I'm sorry things turned out the way they did for you but this can happen anywhere. I don't think we should be holding the bad judgement of one guy against all of them....

I find men who have been in war are desensitized and look for one thing only. Even if it works out, it will probably be a write off because they are too dang picky and self centered. I am glad I found out early enough. Maybe it is all for the best Tina.
