found this quote made by President Ronald Reagan in 1985, and I am wondering is there a difference between the Marines, and the regular Navy/Army forces, or are the Marines like an elite force similiar to that British Special Forces?
"Some people spend their entire lifetime wondering if they?ve made a difference. The Marines don?t have that problem." (President Ronald Reagan, 1985
The Marines are THE best you'll ever find! They're stronger, prouder, more confident, loyal, and they're the one branch that truly never leaves their corp. They're brothers to the end. I was loved by a Recon Marine for two years and I know I was the luckiest woman in the world! OOORAH! :-)
Of course Ottawa is....I did not mean capital in Capital of your Country, but Capital in where its all happening. Cheeky I wasn't jumping down your throat...I was kidding around with you...Even Mick Jagger said Toronto was his favorite city...He even played a private concert on the Lake Shore Port Royale I think...gee Cheeky lighten up...that post was week ago..who ever puts these messages up, moves them around, places them out of order, they come and go....As far as learning lessons, it wasnt worth my effort to debate with anyone, 90pct are already made up, you cannot change it. WE all know about opinions....If we had the answers we wouldnt be here. I think I found mine....thats why I let my membership expire....have moved on....for the most part....But don't think I was jumping down your throat....I was just nudging you a little. Cheeky I know 3 million other people who think Toronto is happening..hehehe Have a nice day....lighten up....have fun....

Starbucks is good...but there not everywhere....besides...I am trying to get the thousands of Canucks heading to and from Florida....I like my coffee hot and strong...and I do like flavored coffee. Cheeky I got you beat out, those hillbilly's would relate with Tim's before Starbucks...hehehe Besides there already in Ohio moving South...
ROFLMAO,,,ROFLMAO,,,,,NO CONSISTENCY!!!!
That is absolutely hilarious. I will explain why... First off, this is probably because the birth place of Starbucks is Seattle,,,,but,,,, Here in Vancouver, you can not even walk two blocks without bumbing into a starbucks coffeee place. They are "EVERYWHERE" and new ones are opening almost monthly.
We even have two, right across the street from each other on Robson Street and they both have line ups at any given time. And then another one just two blocks up from those two.
In between the Starbucks, we have a little known coffee house that has been around for years called Blenz Coffee.
So, between the two of them, they have more then cornered the coffee market with Starbucks being the majority coffee holder.
Tim Hortons is here as well, but not nearly as many. Again coffee,,, like beer or wine is a taste of preference. I use to hate Starbucks when they first came to Vancouver in the late 80's. They over roasted their beans, in my opinion, but I have grown more then fond of them, as I brew Starbucks at home when I am not getting it from their shops.
No how pathetic is that, I ask?
LOL

Cheekey wake up...Everyone in Canada realizes that Toronto is the Capital of Canada...Ontario...is what drives the economoy supports the rest of the provs.. I hear this from my Canadian Friends both liberal...and CONSERVATIVE...Toronto being 2.4 million tax paying citizens..who love Tim Hortons...everywhere..every street corner...dont give me some vancouver wanna bee..Toronto is where its happening.. Did the stones come to Vancouver..No.....did the Pope come to Vancouver..No......what is in Vancouver.....TORONTO...ONTARIO is where its happening....
Tim Hortons, in KY...is where I make my retirement....yeah..baby.....
Holy crapper batman, you should sue your school for failure to educate you.
OTTAWA is the capital of CANADA...
The STONES have been to Vancouver....
I know, I saw "Bridges to Babylon" World Tour when it stops in Vancouver January 28th, 1998.
AND YES,,,,,the POPE did come to VANCOUVER. He spoke at BC Place in 1984 three weeks before Billy Graham did.
Once again, you open your mouth and place both your feet into it before doing your research..........Didn't you learn your lesson after the last time RMC?????
By the way, coffee, like beer or wine, is subject to the taste.
I gave "MY" opinion and did not ask to be jumped by you, once again.....
Sorry RMC but I am a Canadian and living in our nations capital - OTTAWA and we happen not to think to highly of Toronto. Nice place to visit, but I definately would not like to live there. And by the way the Stones came to Ottawa, spent a few days here and even shot their latest video here. And as for the Pope, Toronto can have him.

I wasnt going to post any additional comments, but with the movie Jarhead, which from what I have been reading from Marines is not totally based on fact. Has beckoned to post a few more remarks of respect for this branch of our Armed Forces. This picture is on the web and is post able without infringing on anyone's right.
The headlines read;
A perfect summary of what the Marines thought of President Reagan. (Marine Sgt. Ethan Rocke, 26, from San Diego, cries as taps is played during interment ceremonies for former President Reagan at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.)
In regards to anyone expecting movies to be complete fact based,,,,,, ROFLMAO
Unless it has the words "DOCUMENTARY" written on it, it is always going to be inaccurate.
Movies are made for entertainment purposes, documentaries are made for knowledge and education. If they made it to realistic as a movie, it would flop at the box office. They have to write a story (fiction) into anything that even remotely carries truth to it. Have to keep the audience wanting to be entertained.
Just my opinion...
Have a great day and keep smiling.
I found it quite fitting since this post started with a tribute from President Ronald Reagan to the U.S. Marines the perfect end would have been a return tribute from the U.S. Marines to President Reagan, rest in peace.
I know this post will continue and perhaps it should. If anyone really wants to get an idea about being a Marine. I recommend now Capt Grose's web page, not what he says, but what he reports, what others have written. Read the story about SgtMajor Curtin under the Sep 11 dedication, which in itself is a beautiful tribute. The story about this Sgt Major should be a movie.
They carried Sergeant Major Curtin out of the rubble.

Marines are First to fight.
Marines are No. 1
Navy Sailors No. 2
Army Soldier No. 3
Air Force No. 4 (At least now)
Coast Guard No. (I don't know where but their on the top 10 somewhere, lol)
We are not only an ARMY OF ONE,
But WE STEP INTO THE BLUE,
When it comes to fighting,
We go FULL SPEED AHEAD,
We LEAD THE PACK,
Go EVERYWHERE YOU WANT TO BE,
We HIGH,
We are ALL THAT WE CAN BE,
We fight in the AIR,
We fight on LAND,
We fight on SEA,
When the PRESIDENT looks for a FEW GOOD MEN,
We are there.
There may be few of us,
But that's all it takes.
We stand FEW,
And we stand PROUD,
A "BAND OF BROTHERS AND SISTERS",
Some call us JARHEADS,
Some call us LEATHERNECKS,
And have even called us DEVIL DOGS.
When we're around ALL IS SECURE.
People can sleep at night,
Because WE'RE ALWAYS ON THE GUARD.
We fight along side THE ARMY, THE NAVY, & THE AIR FORCE.
But if you "EVER LOOKED ON HEAVENS SCENE"
"YOU WILL FIND THE STREETS ARE GUARDED BY THE UNITED STATES MARINES"
To all my fellow MARINES and our brother forces,
OOHRAH & SEMPER FI,
Stand PROUD and never say DIE,
There's PEACE,
Because of YOU & ME.
